Dr. Damian Covington
Dr. Covington is a board-certified family practitioner who joined Dominion Medical Associates, Inc. in 2004. A native of Washington, D.C., Dr. Covington chose the medical field to make a difference. He truly enjoys serving in historic Jackson Ward because of its resemblance to his hometown, Anacostia, the southeastern part of the District of Columbia. Dr. Covington completed his residency at Hanover Family Physicians in Virginia after completion of a year-long internship at the Medical College of Virginia. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1999. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Hampton University in 1991. He has also received several outstanding teacher awards from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Community Family Medicine Department, and was honored in 2011 as "Alumni of the Year" from Hampton University.
Dr. Covington is a professional affiliate of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the National Health Services Corps. Currently, Dr. Covington is currently active with the Medical Executive Committee. He has served in multiple positions with the medical staff at Bon Secour Richmond Community Hospital in the past, including president. He has also served over six years as community member of the MCV Associated Physician's Board of Directors.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Covington enjoys sports and spending time with his family and friends. He gives back by speaking to local ministries about different health issues.
